Hardcover. Condition: Fine. 1792. Rare book by Johann Elert Bode, an 18th-century German astronomer who helped identify characteristics of the planet Uranus. His first, and most important book, was Anleitung zur Kentniss des Gestirnten Himmels. In this book, Bode first discussed the now famous Bodes Law which describes the motion of and spacing between planets.

Minor wear to edge and covers. Marble papered board with half leather binding. Pages very clean. Sound binding. Marbled edges. No foldable celestial maps.
