US$236.00

Hardcover. Condition: Good - Very Good-. 1900-1912 Constable and Co Ltd, Illustrated. Ex-libris

From the library of L.P. Shawe-Storey and more interestingly from the library of John Gretton, 1st Baron Gretton. John Gretton was a politician and businessman who won two Gold Medals in the 1900s Olympics. This is a very interesting volume also in that it the dedication changes from being to Queen Victoria to being dedicated to her memory as she passed away before publication could be complete.

Includes maps, plates, many, many illustrations and sketches. A couple of volumes are a bit tender, but all are still bound with no loose or unconnected pages. Some foxing throughout which varies, but excepting the cover of volume 3, never becomes severe. Photographs are included as well. The volume spans form 1900 to 1912 and covers Botany, History, Insects and other animals, Geology, Politics, Religion, and many other categories for a full and comprehensive history of the region of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Missing the final 6th Volume.
