Illustrated in color and heliogravure, text printed on fine laid paper. Final leaf with chip to upper corner (blank page other than imprint, no loss of text), else Very Good, with pages unopened. Printed by the prestigious French printing house Firmin-Didot. This present copy bears an ink-stamp reading "Offert par le Gouverneur General de Madagascar," indicating this was possibly an official colonial presentation copy. The illustrator was the recipient of the prize of the Colonial Society of French Artist.

Commissioned for the 1931 Paris International Colonial Exposition, it offers a comprehensive overview of the island's geography, history, and colonial administration.
