The Lexicon Islandico-Latino-Danicum is a historical dictionary of Old Norse and Icelandic, featuring definitions and translations in Latin and Danish. It bridges the Icelandic language with Latin and Danish, making it a cornerstone resource for studying Old Norse literature and Scandinavian linguistics. Compiled in the latter 18th century, the book was not published until 1814.
Beautifully bound in leather th gilt letterings, marble edges and endpapers. Tightly bound and, excepting light foxing, in remarkable condition. Leather has light shelf wear, but is well preserved. Bears the small bookplate of Matthew Robson, an accomplshed shipbuilder in Monkwearmouth, Sunderland.
